The holidays are a time for family and friends and for creating cherished memories. For many people, decorating their homes is integral to the holiday season. It's a way to express their creativity, share their traditions, and create a festive atmosphere.
But what happens to all that hard work and creativity once the holidays end? If you're not careful, your carefully curated holiday decor may become little more than a distant memory. This is where photography comes in.
Most of the pictures I'm sharing today are from Christmas 2022. For some reason, during the last holiday season, I got stuck in who knows what, and the usual Christmas home tour post with these pictures was never published.

Thanks to being a blogger and, more precisely, a home decor enthusiast, I've consistently documented all the changes done to our home and the decor choices that our home continuously gets.
I'm taking this opportunity to preserve those memories; having the 2022 pictures online is essential. I also want to discuss the importance of documenting your holiday decor.
The following pictures of our family room mantel dolled up for the holiday season throughout the past 11 years are a little taste of what I'm talking about.
Documenting Your Holiday Decor with Pictures
Taking pictures of your holiday decor is a great way to preserve the memories of your celebrations for years to come. It's also a fun way to track how your taste and style have evolved over time.
CHRISTMAS MANTEL DECOR THROUGHOUT THE YEARS
Here are a few tips for documenting your holiday decor with pictures:
- Take pictures of your overall decor. This will give you a sense of the overall ambiance of your home.
- Most of these pictures showcase the entire fireplace, which I want to highlight right now, but focusing on the details is also essential. Get close-ups of your favorite ornaments, wreaths, and centerpieces.
