Hello, and welcome to this year's Christmas home tour!
Last week, I finally stashed away all the cans of paint, caulking tubes, and paint brushes I had lying all around my office, which was command central. For the past six months, I have been in a painting marathon. A painting marathon in which I painted almost everything inside my home, either white or black. :D
I haven't had the time to update you on those paint transformations, and today is not the day for that nonsense. In some areas, I just jumped into reveal mode just because of Christmas.
Let's start this home tour at the front door. Get yourself comfortable with a coffee mug in hand because this is a picture-loaded post. I'm so happy that you're here!
At the beginning of the year, one of my goals was to update our foyer. My oh my, in the nick of time, it finally happened. The most significant change is the staircase with the black iron balusters and white oak treads and posts. The complete details will be shared in a later post.

I couldn't wait to hang a Christmas garland down that staircase railing.
You can also see that someone was waiting for me to stop taking pictures. 🐶 Louie's doing great after his CCL repair. It's almost two months after the surgery, and he's walking nicely.
There's only one part that needs improvement: walking fast inside the house. I don't know why he brings the leg up and hops quickly in three legs. The doctor says he'll be there with the therapy given to him right now.
The little swags above the frames are a little holiday touch.
The kitchen at the end of the hallway looks more modern than ever.
At the beginning of the season, I was looking for burgundy ornaments. I bought some online but had to return them because they were way too pricey for what I was getting.
But hey, let's skip the kitchen for a minute and tour the family room.
By painting the fireplace black, I made sure to give it the importance it deserves as the focal point in the room.
Best decision ever!
The dark background makes everything in front of it pop.
I already had most of the decor. However, I got this pretty green vase filled with Norfolk Island pine branches for the coffee table display, and then I added decorative lights. I love it!
I'm still enamored with our King Noble Fir artificial Christmas tree. This is our second year using it. You can check last year's Christmas decor right HERE.
The three primary colors on the tree are black, gold, and burgundy. Those same colors were sprinkled around the house to create a cohesive look.
These round glass ornaments are one of my favorites. So elegant and well-made.
When I saw these paper ornaments at Ikea, I was immediately sold, price and style won.
The Christmas presents were also dressed in the theme. How awesome is that "The Night Before Christmas" gift wrapping! Let's read it before opening it. :D
I also added little burgundy ribbon bows on the tree. I bought two big rolls of velvet ribbon 25 and 50 yards, an easy and inexpensive way to keep up with the color theme all throughout the house.
The built-in on the other side of the family room has a few touches of decor.
I also painted the little black trees and used old black ornaments to cheer up those shelves.
Now, let's go to the kitchen, stopping first at our little breakfast nook—the table where we sit for most of our meals and board games.
I arranged a quick table setting using my old holiday salad plates.
The many acorns on the centerpiece were collected on my long walks with Louie during Autumn before he hurt his leggy.
The kitchen island was another item that didn't escape my paintbrush a couple of weeks ago. It first got a pole wrap treatment to give it a modern look.
Holiday decor in the kitchen is, as always, scarce.
A wooden board on the kitchen island is an easy way to corral your display and move it away at any time if you need space.
Faux and natural greenery are the best bet for cupboards and windows.
One of my favorite faux garlands draping the window. The little stars were bought at Target last year, and they didn't bring them out this one.
Let's continue to the home office, my space. :)
I did nothing in this room other than swapping the art on that wall and rearranging the displays on the shelves.
The big table is once again the gift-wrapping station.
The shelves are now sporting freshly painted black vases, books, and holiday decor.
I used these LED curtain lights last year, and I liked them so much that this was one of the first items I propped up again. I love those little lights during the day and night.
The living room is another room on the main floor with little holiday decor. I didn't unpack the white Christmas tree that usually comes to this room because I wanted to keep things simple.
I'll be traveling after the 25th and only have a little time to pack up all the holiday decor.

That wraps up this Christmas home tour on the main floor of our home. We're back in the foyer, where I can't stop staring at that staircase.

I hope you enjoyed my holiday tour. Thank you so much for stopping by.
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

ReplyDeleteYes, it is! Thanks Beck.
DeleteI just loved seeing the changes you made! The house looks so refreshed and I love your color theme! Merry Christmas, Cristina!
ReplyDeleteAww, it's so good to hear that, Sheila. Thanks! Sending lots of love to you and your pretty family this holiday season and always. ❤️
DeleteCristina, you have such a beautiful eye for decor. Love all the touches of Christmas. Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteThe updates are elegant and the staircase is striking. Glad Louie is doing better.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jayne! I feel like a queen walking down that staircase.😅 And yes, we're so happy that Louie's almost his old self. Have a beautiful holiday season!
DeleteYour staircase and railing are just beautiful!! Love all the touches in the rest of your home. Truly outstanding!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Shauna! I need to post the before and after pictures side by side to see the huge difference. We're so happy with the outcome.
DeleteCristina, your home looks so elegant and sophisticated using those colors! So lovely! As for Louie, my sister had a Yorkie who did the same thing with his leg. He would be trotting along then throw one leg out then continue on, repeating the process every few yards.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Sue! I'm counting on Louie's full recoup (the perfectionist in me talking ;) But I know those furry babies don't mind a little lazy leg or hopping on three legs. I hope your sister's pup is doing great.
DeleteThis is beautiful, I love it all
ReplyDeleteThanks Marty!
DeleteAbsolutely beautiful, love everything you've done, especially the staircase! Doesn't green look especially beautiful when juxtaposed against black?
ReplyDeleteAww you just put a big smile on my face, thanks Jeanine! And Yeees, that's a fantastic combo!
