| HC-130J COMBAT KING II |
This post is far from my regular posts, but let's leave the decor and DIYs for another day as I couldn't leave these pretty pictures and, most importantly, the small video snippets buried in the depths of my archives.
The air show was held two weeks ago after being postponed last year. It was an excellent way to celebrate the show's 75th anniversary at Air Base Andrews.
We arrived at the FedEx field to park our cars, and from there, we were bussed to Joint Base Andrews.

On the inside, I couldn't help but sit and look at all the mechanics and cables going everywhere.
The cockpit, with that vast amount of controls, was equally mesmerizing.
Here on route to the next!
DOUGLAS C17A
Thanks to my daughter, we also spent much time visiting every tent and getting souvenirs. She loved them all! :)
Ha, I got a cap showcasing one of my favorites, the Thunderbirds!
The Marine Corps MV-22B Osprey Aircraft.
Inside, the Douglas C-47 was the aircraft that stole our hearts.
The C-47 airborne led the invasion of Normandy over 75 years ago in what is known today as D-Day.
Along with my daughter, we hopped inside this historic machine.
The US Air Force Demonstration Squadron performs precision aerial maneuvers, demonstrating the capabilities of Air Force high-performance aircraft to people worldwide.
Along with my daughter, we hopped inside this historic machine.
But hey, the show was about to start, and all the aircraft were lined up and ready to go!
SHOWTIME
A B-25 made a marvelous display in the air, circling two US Army Golden Knights for the National Anthem Flag Jump.
Ken Pietsch Truck Top Landing
Since 1973, Kent has performed his incredible aerobatic routines for millions of people at more than 400 shows that have taken him to quality venues throughout the United States.
He flies an 800-pound Interstate Cadet with a 37-foot wingspan. The plane's horizontally opposed four-cylinder engine can generate 90 horsepower and a G-force ranging from -3 to +5.
It was incredible seeing him able to land on this moving truck!
On top of everything, we enjoyed the Jelly Belly decal the truck and aircraft had.
USAF C-17 Globemaster III Demonstration
The C-17 Globemaster III is the most flexible cargo aircraft to enter the airlift force. The C-17 is capable of rapid strategic delivery of troops and all types of cargo to main operating bases or to forward bases in the deployment area.
The C-17 measures 174 feet long (53 meters) with a wingspan of 169 feet and 10 inches (51.75 meters). It is powered by four Pratt & Whitney F117-PW-100 turbofan engines, based on the commercial Pratt & Whitney PW2040 used on the Boeing 757. Each machine is rated at 40,440 pounds of thrust and includes thrust reversers that direct airflow upward and forward to avoid ingesting dust and debris.
This HUGE aircraft was impressive to see up close!
F-35 LIGHTNING II
The F-35A is the US Air Force's latest fifth-generation fighter. The conventional takeoff and landing (CTOL) F-35A gives the US Air Force and its allies the power to dominate the skies - anytime, anywhere.
The F-35A is an agile, versatile, high-performance, 9g capable multirole fighter that combines stealth, sensor fusion, and unprecedented situational awareness.
The F-35's engine produces 43,000 lbs of thrust and consists of a three-stage fan, a six-stage compressor, an annular combustor, a single-stage high-pressure turbine, and a two-stage low-pressure turbine.
Major Kristin Wolfe is the F-35A Lightning II Demonstration Team Commander, 388th Fighter Wing, Hill Air Force Base, Utah. She demonstrated spectacularly different maneuvers and abilities at top speed and force.
THUNDERBIRDS
The Thunderbirds was the show's highlight and my favorite and final display.
It was my first time at an air show display, and I know it will not be my last one! 🤞
The entire aerial display was breathtaking. The roar of those machines... blood-tingling. A complete collection of power, history, and inspiration for future generations!
