Adding functional storage to a small closet is critical during a closet makeover. This small closet in my son's room got a full makeover that turned it into the organized space where he keeps his clothes in tip-top condition.
Closets usually come equipped with only a high wire shelf and a rod to hang clothing.
This closet now sports drawers, shelves for clothing and shoes, a double set of rods, and even inside the wall storage for small accessories. Oh, and as you can see, it also got a chippy sliding barn door. ;)

The before: I told you, a wire shelf with a simple rod. :/ He never used it.
Getting rid of the swinging door and the small section of wall around it, gave us a little more space that was put to good use.
The first set of drawers that I ever built is still functioning very well. On the left, there are small storage shelves where my son keeps lotions, deodorants, watches, etc.
