I'm so very excited that Summer is almost here. Our traveling plans for this summer are zero. Yep, you heard that right. Despite the lack of travel, I'm so happy because we will have lots of company all summer. Contrary to last year, when we couldn't join or welcome anyone due to the pandemic, this will be the summer to bond, celebrate, and be a big family.
Since we will have company on and off for quite some time, I've been sprucing up our home, especially the bedrooms, making them guest-ready. It was ideal when my friend Marty from A Stroll Thru Life reached out to me for the Inviting Summer Bedrooms series. Marty always pulls together a great group of very talented bloggers to give you guys some serious inspiration. This time, it's all about summer bedroom décor.
If you're one of my regular readers or coming over from my friend Stephanie at Casa Watkins Living, welcome! I adore how easily Stephanie infuses her home with color and pattern, adding global-inspired décor to all her rooms!
Here at RemodelaCasa, summer décor can be summarized in two words, airy and simple.

I love it! No big renovations shortly, aside from organizing and updating the closet.
I don't know about you, but just the thought of crisp white linens on a bed gives me a sense of incredible freshness. Exactly what we want after a long, hot summer day.

As summer arrives, the major change that this room almost always experiences is soft white linens. This is the time to say goodbye to heavy comforters and flannel bed sheets.
A checked duvet cover gave the bed that small dose of pattern that works wonderfully with the geometric design on the wall.

I kept looking for this type of pillow shams with the double dark borderline at a good price and finally found them. So pretty!
A tray in the bedroom is an incredible way to corralling decorative items, but you can also include items that serve a purpose.

A great way to make your guests feel welcome is by including a few books they might like. Put in a pen, notepad, or something they might need during their stay.
The dark accent wall is a great punch of color to an otherwise bright room that only needs a few décor touches to bring summer in!

I'm also on the team that wants a comfy chair in their bedroom. It's even better if a nice pouf or ottoman is there to prop your feet up.
This is the spot where I like to read my favorite magazines. ;)

The shelves were kept very simple with a few accessories. I found this canvas art at HomeGoods that I thought would be a good addition to my bedroom or bathroom.
As you can see, above the mantel was the space for this chica.
Here is a look at the other side of the room at an angle I rarely photograph because the doors to the bath and closet are there.
Above the bed, I hung that modern print I had bought a long time ago. It makes me envision water.
