I'm so very excited to be teaming up with a group of friends led by Heidi from Honey Bear Lane on a Christmas ornament blog hop.
We're sharing with you seven simple DIY Christmas ornaments in hopes of giving you ideas to decorate your Christmas tree this holiday season. At the end of this post, you'll find the links to visit each one of these beautiful ornaments my friends have created.
Every year I try to make an ornament... Well, when the kids were little I did tons more, but lately, it seems like only one ornament for the year. :D
Ha, and I see that snowflakes are something I really like! Check out these previous snowflake ornaments I created HERE & HERE. They are really cute, but this time I went for something different... metal.
Don't worry it's easy!!
For these new snowflakes, I used one aluminum Union Jack Mill sheet 1ft. x 2 ft. that I already had.
I made these six snowflakes and I still have leftovers for maybe, three more.
The best part is you don't need special tools or materials to create these! It's a very economical project that you can cherish for years to come. Let me show you how.

The materials you'll need:
- 1 ft. x 2 ft. Aluminum Union Jack Mill Sheet
- Straight cut tin snip
- Gloves
- Ribbon
- Sharpie -optional-
- Paint supplies -optional-
As I said, I already had this aluminum sheet that I spray painted white a long time ago. If I have to do this again, I would paint each snowflake ornament at the end. The paint chipped and cracked a bit while cutting the shapes.
For my very first snowflake, I used a Sharpie to draw a snowflake on the back of the sheet.
Then, using little snips, I cut a square shape around the snowflake and started following the lines to cut out the design.
Into this snowflake you see in the center here:
And hey, I started playing with them, setting them on my Christmas tree.
Well, guys, this was a very easy project that I know you can recreate without much effort. However, I got you six more easy and wonderful Christmas ornament ideas created by my blogging friends. Enjoy!
