Hidden Laundry Hamper

Hi friends,

I'm finally getting back into the swing of things and I'm so glad because school is almost here!
That's not an easy transition around these parts. The kids are really happy enjoying these lazy days of Summer and nope, they're not looking forward for school to start. But, you need to do what you need to do! :D

Their school supplies are ready and so are their rooms. Yes, their work spaces are clean and tidy, but I also went ahead and finished this project that was on my to do list for a very long time:

A Hidden Laundry Hamper in my son's room!

Teen Boy Room
There's no excuse for a messy room!

And I'm so happy to team up with Ryobi Nation to bring you this easy laundry hamper hack, and to give a lucky winner $300 worth of Ryobi Tools!

Head on to Ryobi Nation for the complete details on how you can turn any cabinet you might have in your bedroom or just about anywhere in your home into a hidden laundry hamper.

Did you see that nice Laundry Bag?

That's and easy DIY you can customized to the size of your hamper.

All you need is a long piece of drop cloth material to go around the hamper, another piece for the base and two handles.

Use both pieces of drop cloth material to create the bag. Then, attach the handles.
Staple Velcro all around the top of hamper and the other part of Velcro onto the outside of the bag.

Add a nice laundry label and using transfer paper & a hot iron, set it in place. You're all done!

  1. This is such a cool project idea, thanks for sharing it. We purchased a foreclosure and have been busy making it ours. Our next project is a bistro table and making built-ins for our basement remodel. A cordless nailer and a bandsaw are next on our tools list.

    1. Thanks Mara, I think that's the hardest part. I'm even allowing him to keep the hamper all pulled out at all times.

  6. We will be finishing what I refer to as the SCARY Room in my basement area. So this would be amazing to win! I would love the 18V LITHIUM-ION DRILL AND IMPACT DRIVER KIT and the Hammer Drill.

  7. Love that laundry basket and bag!!!! I'd love to try my hand at making a farm table for the breakfast nook area. A hand planer and the ryobi band saw would help with this.

  17. My husband could definitely use a new pneumatic stapler. The one he has is being temperamental to the point back in April he was building me a couple of plant trolleys and through a series of unfortunate events the thing shot him in the arm which resulted in me taking him to the emergency room at 10:30 at night. Because of the thing being uncooperative he knew the gun hit his arm but wasn't sure if it actually shot a staple. Even though his arm was bleeding and what would appear to be the entrance site of where the staple went in my husband said it could just be an injury from the gun hitting; like a pressure cut because he was having trouble with the thing miss-firing. He thought he could feel something though when he moved his arm certain ways and sure enough the x-ray confirmed the gun did indeed shoot a staple. Needless to say that ended up being some really expensive plant trolleys.

  24. Our current project (my husband's) is a deck that is rotted out. After taking out the rotted wood, he'll put in the new wood and pretty new deck! Right now we could use a sawzall! But we will need a lot of tools to get the whole project done.

I am catching up on my blog reading and see you have been busy!! I always love seeing your projects and especially this one as I bought a cabinet to hack into a pull out laundry hamper for my son in the spring and still haven't had a chance to pull that project together! Love seeing how you built this from scratch, and the bag is so cute!! You are so clever!! Look forward to poking around over here and checking out your latest and greatest builds and projects. XOX
