I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I did enjoy it at home working on some projects and doing the taxes. Yep. it's done, and I'm so glad to cross it off my to-do list. ;)
Last week was Spring cleaning, soon after, decor pieces and fresh flowers were brought to the main areas of my home to welcome Spring. So, yeah, the weekend was also the time to enjoy my home all clean and pretty.
Today, I have an easy art project to share with you. I'm one of those that start to think about what to hang on those empty walls right after the main work has been completed, and of course, there is no budget or energy to think about it. :/
Lucky for me, I have a daughter who really likes going shopping with her mamma. So, while I give her company I keep my eyes on duty, searching for the right kind of items to incorporate into my decor.
That's how it happened with this piece... She was clothing shopping, and I was going all around the store helping her with the selections. Of course, the clearance section is my first spot. It was there that I found this dress, and no, I wasn't thinking about my daughter's requests when I picked it up...
I saw the pattern and the color I wanted to incorporate into my room. The three dollars price was definitely a win-win situation.
When my daughter saw me holding this dress,
she was like "Oh, mom I don't like that dress"
me: I know, that's for me
daughter: but wait, that's an extra-large size!
me: I know, the bigger, the better... more fabric for my project. :D
The skirt was cut into two pieces using a light cardboard and tape...
It was turned into wall art. Easy right?! :)
Two of these frames were created and I'm sharing them on the actual wall they're hanging, this next Wednesday during my Spring Home Tour right HERE.

OMG, you are genius! Never thought of that, and I have lots of beautiful dresses from Sophia and my own closet that I feel bad giving away, now I can try to display some of them! Thanks Cristina!
ReplyDeleteI love the fact that you share projects that even we craft-impaired folks can do! Thanks!
ReplyDeletePositively brilliant Cristina! :) SOOOO many positive possibilities. Thanks!

Love this clever wall art. I'm such an indigo person---especially when it's so quick and easy on the pocketbook. You've inspired my 5-foot self to get out of the petite department and over to extra-large. Thanks, sweet friend. Happy day to you! Susie from The Chelsea Project
ReplyDeleteSuch a great idea. I love all the blue designs, but never would have thought of framing a dress!
ReplyDeletelove what you did with the dress.
