Ha, this was one of those projects that I started right on time, but for lots of reasons, it got relegated to being one of the last ones to be finished.
It was just yesterday, five days before Christmas, when I looked at this area and thought... C'mon, I cannot
leave this corner looking this sad. It wasn't that bad, but it needed the last finishing touches... Some more ornaments on the tree, re-arrenging the base and presents around it, removing extras my kids love to place on the mantel, and of course taking the final pics. ;)
The red and white theme continues here. The mantel was topped off with the wooden barn quilt I made a few weeks ago. I was thinking on distressing it a little bit, but I really had no time, and I didn't even remember to do it with all the other projects I had on hand.
Red is such a strong color, I didn't add much to this mantel.
I love these knitted stockings I bought at HomeGoods. lots of texture.
The scrap wood trees were the other only element to make it here. I added two more trees I had in my stash.
Then, it was time to fluff the tree. :D
Truth is, there is not much I can do to fluff this, my very first white tree, it's all branches!
It's called the Winterberry Christmas tree. I bought it at Walmart, they had it on display and I loved how it looked.
I set it up, it was a quick install, but had no time to add ornaments, until now. We've been enjoying the double lights, my son loves the color ones and I like the white ones. It even has a setting for you to enjoy both lights at the same time.
For the Christmas tree decor I went for a... Oops, some kids were enjoying this snow day and forgot their hats..
And mittens...
Ha, and even the sleds!
That's what happens when they get into snowball fights. :)
The presents, some of them real, some of them fake. I might deter someone from peaking into each and everyone of them. ;)
Wishing you and your love ones a very Merry Christmas
and a Happy New Year!
Love all the red and white! I made a wood barn quilt very similar to yours, yours is bigger, but i'm going to make some more, I love them.
