Painted Wooden Basket

Nothing better than a good flea market find at a great price!

Yeah, I've been there. I've found lots of really good stuff at flea markets, and at really good prices.

Many times, I get stuff I don't necessarily need. But, if the item is somewhat cute and at a great price, it has to come home with me. 😉

Ha, last week I kept on evaluating that philosophy when I was collecting items from the basement to sell at the flea market next weekend.

I found LOTS of stuff laying there, looking mostly the same way as they did the first day I got them. And the worst part is that they haven't been used.

This small wooden basket is one of those items. It looks ten times better in this picture than it looked in real life. It was just a drab little basket I got for one or two bucks, like two years ago.

So, I decided to transform it with paint. ---> Two coats of my not-so-secret white - homemade chalk paint - but hey, too white.

All those slats were perfect for some color... Ahhh, much better. :)

The inside stayed white.

And of course, for the first time ever I used it... At least to take some pics. 😊

As I said, I'm bring it with me to try to sell it this weekend. I hope someone get to use it a bit more than I did.

It makes a good mother's day present, isn't it.

The rosy slats were painted with Americana-Acrylic paint -Melon- 

at 50 & 25% strength (adding white paint)

The blue is - ASCP - Duck Egg Blue
