As many of you already know, I've been working in the garage trying to bring organization to it.
Well, I'm happy to report lots of progress. :)
The latest project, organizing the shelves, took me a whole full day, building extra little shelves to take advantage of all the space, buying the plastics bins, and putting everything in order took a good chunk of time.
You can check the post about it right HERE.
However, what I didn't show you was this huge mess! --->
Most of that pile is stuff we don't need any longer. So, after sorting throughout it, I decided, that next month, I'll be joining my neighborhood flea market as a vendor.
DIY - Scrap Wood Cart |
I'm even taking things a bit further... Out of my scrap pile I'm creating some signs.
These particular boards were left behind after only using the hooks they came with. I liked their patina and even though I wanted to cover the holes, I didn't do it because then, I would've needed to paint the whole thing.
Stencils and acrylic paint were used.
A wooden accent piece was then added using my latest FAVORITE tool: RYOBI Airstrike Brad Nailer - to say that I love this tool is an understatement. I was used to work with a set of pneumatic nailers but working with the air compressor and the long cords was not fun at all!
When Ryobi tools asked me if I wanted to try it, I couldn't say yes fast enough, and I'm SOLD! It's so EASY to work with it. This is a tool everyone should have - NO COMPRESSOR - NO CABLES - Give it a try!
After a little distressing with a 120-grid sandpaper and sealing the boards with clear matte poly, this is how my Summer signs look.
Nothing like Maryland's Blue crabs and of course, the beach. :)
Stay tuned for more projects coming out of my scrap wood pile. ;)
