I've been on vacation mode thus the lack of posting last week. As you read this post I'll be leaving sunny Florida and heading back home to continue with my regular posting and projects.
I haven't forgotten the closet I was working on, in fact, it's all done and I can't wait to share it with you. In the meantime, I'm so glad to take you on a beautiful home tour that I know you're gonna love.
Have you happened to visit a blog and get instantly hooked to it? That's what happened to me when I found the Classic Style Home blog, Jennifer's simple, classic style is right down my alley.
Jennifer and her husband have transformed their plain boring builder's grade house into a home full of charm and character where they have raised their three kids.
Jennifer shares all the before, during, and after photos on her blog. Ready to take a look?
Once you pass the darling porch in this California bungalow home you can't help but notice the beautiful millwork throughout.
French doors lead you from the foyer into the home office. Jennifer's unused formal living room was transformed into an enclosed home office which I think is a wonderful idea.
The enclosing phase happened long ago, but lately, she gave this space a total makeover with neutral décor. The ending result: Stunning! The clock on the wall is such a gorgeous focal point.
Simple and beautiful details give this room harmony and elegance.
Her formal dining room was given the classic board and batten treatment, the high ceiling makes it look so spacious.
The fireplace takes center stage in her family room, one of my favorite spaces in her home.
Here again, she continues the soothing neutral palette; changing accessories for the seasons. Mario, her beloved dog, adds to the cute factor in this room.
From the family room, you can see into the kitchen. The dark cabinets are long gone, paint, new counters, and a backsplash transformed this space.
Jennifer's kitchen is nice and bright, but she has also added warmth with the metal /wooden stools, the neutral shades on the windows, and the wooden chairs in the breakfast area.
Her laundry room is simple yet functional. A little decorative curtain is such a great way to hide the washer and drier hook-ups.
The mud room is the only main area where she accessorized with a bold girly-girl color. What a happy and organized space she created. You have to see the before to really appreciate the after.
As I told you before, this home is flooded with architectural detail. Board and batten, crown molding, door and window trim... The stairs is another DIY project that Jennifer and her husband tackled. I've been saving it for when I get to work on my own stairs. Again, such a classic look!
The magnificent job of blending subtle colors with a neutral decorating scheme continues in the master bedroom.
The molding not only on the walls but also on the dresser adds the finishing touch. I also adore the simple way she dresses regular curtains into stylish no-sew french pleated drapes.
Steps off the master bedroom are the screened balcony. Isn't this lovely?!
I cannot help but dream of sitting here with a cup of coffee in my hands welcoming a new day.
An all-star game room is a perfect spot for her three boys to entertain themselves and work as a team.
Lots of storage for their toys and games, a T.V., and easy-to-take care of furniture create the perfect setting for the kids to have a good time.
But, when game time finishes, Jennifer has also created the perfect room for each of her three boys to relax and unwind.
A striking red bed with plaid bedding fits perfectly in this varsity room.
While crabs, octopuses, and oars go better in the nautical room for her funny, vibrant, and outgoing boy.
The striking blue and red colors are soothed down with neutrals.
For her third boy, she mixed the sports and rustic decor very well.
Finally, here is Jennifer's backyard oasis, I followed her journey in building this beautiful swimming pool.
She even posted a guide for building your dream pool right HERE, just in case you're thinking of adding one to your own home.
As I was writing this post I knew Jennifer was moving from this to a brand new home she's been building, and let me tell you, if you think this home is gorgeous the new one is just amazing.
You have to go to her blog and check for yourself, I can't wait to see how she adds her own Classic Style to her new home!
Glad your back, hope it was all fun in FL! Thanks for this home tour! Lovely!
