Decorating your mantel is one of the easiest ways to bring in the spirit of any holiday inside your home. This time a white and red mantel display becomes a classic way to embrace Valentine's day!

Something good about Valentine decorating is that you can re-purpose many of your Christmas decorations.
The pom-pom garlands were an after-season find at Michael's, I only found three, there are only white pom-poms on them, the biggest ones.
The little banners were made with the leftover parchment paper that was used to wrap little presents during the Holidays.
Some extra pom-poms were also attached.
A message in a bottle was written for the three people I love the most ;)
A plain white paper was given a nicer shape and three acrostic poems were written on them.
Branches and pine cones bring the outdoors in.
Instead of just one,
I got two Love Potions No. 9. Let's see if I start kissing everything :)
Well, the true story behind those bottles is that they were closing up a Crate and Barrel store, everything was on sale, stands, props, merchandise, everything.

Well, the true story behind those bottles is that they were closing up a Crate and Barrel store, everything was on sale, stands, props, merchandise, everything.
They had a huge assortment of bottles, empty bottles that they used as props, I bought 3 of the red ones, some whites, and some greens (they were only 25 cents apiece).
I really love the red bottles, they are so vibrant!
I used acrylic paint to write "Love Potions" on the side of those bottles.
Ha, so easy!
The winter white wreath I used during my Blue Christmas is now adorned with some red accents.

And a quick and easy pillow in the same polka-red fabric of the letter O brings color to that chair.

Cristina, how many times can I say this - it's perfect, worthy of a magazine cover. I love the message in a bottle idea, the up-dated white wreath and the sweet polka dot pillow <3
ReplyDeleteBut most of all I love the cozy winter feel of it all (after all Valentine's Day is usually a snowy day, right?)
Hi Cristina! I can't decide which is my favorite, this one, or the blue and white mantel you did at Christmas! Both are beautiful and elegant. I love that you were able to use so many things that you already had, and the LOVE art just tops it all off. Great job, as usual. Have a great weekend!

ReplyDeleteHi there, I just found your blog via Pintrest. I'm absolutely in love with your mantle and fireplace. Is it a gas fireplace? If so--what company is it through? We just bought our first home and have been looking at electric fireplace options, and I really like yours! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, everybody! Inthearchive, Yes, it is a gas, Heat&Glo fireplace. It came with the house and it's been working nicely for around 12 years. I want to upgrade to a new one with a control remote perhaps with the same company.
