I love them! Go check them out and say hello to Diana, that's going to help her feel a bit better, since she is sick :(
Well, Diana's hearts were my inspiration, but "my heart" got some little changes. Well, big changes. I did what I thought was going to be easier and faster for me to do. I made my first heart, the one you saw on the chair in front of the fireplace in less than 20 minutes! I took no pictures, I just needed that heart to be ready for taking the mantel pics.
During the weekend I went back to make another one and I did take pics to show you how you can make one for yourself.
I didn't check my daughter's room when I first looked around the house for hearts, she had the perfect one, and that's the one I traced around my fabric. You can find the pattern HERE.
The materials you'll need:
- 2 Heart shapes cut out of the fabric of your choice.
- 2 Heart shapes cut out of batting (sometimes when I'm running out of batting I used felt, it works for me).
- 2 24" pieces of ribbon.
- Some pillow-stuffing, and
- A small piece of Stich Witchery hem tape.
I started putting the pieces together in a rather hasty way, we had some plans. In my hurry I did not pay attention and things went wrong! I noticed my mistake when trying to turn the right side out! :(
After undoing all those stitches it was time to do it the proper way. The right side of the fabrics facing each other! Got to learn from my own mistakes!
Then, it can be stuffed and closed up ironing the hem tape.
All ready for picture time!
I'm very happy with how they turned out, I love the polka-dots!
Love 💘

ReplyDeleteHi Cristina, your heart looks adorable! I love that you showed us your mistake. :) We all do it, don't we? If I had a nickel for every time I had made that exact mistake...well, let's just say I'd have a LOT of nickels! Still crushing on your mantel. Have a great day!
