Yesterday I got the chance to go to my neighborhood's flea market. It was months since the last time I went, and as usual there were lots to look at.
Hubby came with me, he is liking this kind of trips :) He takes his time looking for cables, music, and tools, while I take my time with things that I can use around the house for decoration.
This time my eyes got fixated on silver objects. Wherever I looked they looked back at me! Of course, that's what I got besides this old tray that the owner told me had been in her house for the past 25 years!
But what I'm most happy about is for this "collection" of silver that was just 10 bucks!
Silver cups, compotes, candlesticks, and
trays!
I arranged my loot on one of the family room bookcases and took some pictures as they were, with their dirty look!
The thing is, I kind of like that dirty, tarnished look!
But I also love the shiny look of silver. Now the question is, which ones am I going to polish?
I love all your silver pieces. We have several that have been in our family for generations. I will say that I keep them polished because I feel that I owe it our ancestors-lol It's that old guilt thing raising its ugly head again. Can't wait to see which ones you polish- xo Diana
ReplyDeletebaking soda-water paste works miracles on shining those silver babies! ...if you decide to polish it
ReplyDeleteI love the look of the two that have handles, so elegant. I'm kinda digging the tarnished look too - Is that an R engraved in them?

Ten bucks? That's amazing and wonderful and I love the idea of putting all the tarnished pieces out and polishing just one and letting it shine. Beautiful! Those are such different pieces than those I find around here. I'm just loving them!
