Let's give that little front porch a brand new look for Fall!
Does it happen to you too?
Once the summer blooms are gone you can't wait to go get some colorful mums and seasonal decor to spruce the area around the front door.
Ha, I was also having a little dilemma, as I encountered that many of the things I had in my stash were not that interesting anymore, and buying new stuff was not an option unless it was an extremely good sale.
So, let's be resourceful and use what we can afford. Besides, most of the time, Fall decor means bringing the outdoors in. Leaves, pine cones, branches...
I went to the wooded area beyond our back fence and there I picked some leaves, tall grasses, branches, vines, and even those little "grapes" I have no idea what they were?
I took an old little basket, some fake fruits, a wooden leaves wreath, a doll, and whatever I could find, and began assembling my door arrangement.
I began by placing the tall grasses and some branches onto the foam, then miss long legs dolly was situated to the side, followed by the leave garlands and fruits,
Until it was ready to be placed on the front door! It's not perfect but I'm happy with the way it turned out. hmm ... those grasses are a bit too high. :s
There weren't many colorful leaves in my backyard, mainly green, but that was not a problem. I asked my buddy-boy to go and find some from around the hood, and pretty quick on his bike he returned with good splashes of color.
Miss Long Legs is happy to be in the spotlight. :)
Some mums and pumpkins frame the entrance.
A couple of weeks ago I found two of these baskets in the trash bin of a restaurant. The fishy smell made me keep them outside all the time, anyways, I love how they look.
The begonias I planted in Spring are still going strong.
The cheap plastic pumpkin my kids used to collect candies got a new facelift and it's posing here with her new pretty plaid dress! You can check how to do that HERE.
A simple makeover for about 20 bucks for the mums and the pumpkins is what makes me happier!
Thanks for stopping by!
