Patriotic Windsocks

Can you believe Memorial Day is here? Yes, time is flying! But this, the unofficial kick-off of Summer is something we all can't wait for.

I like creating patriotic crafts for Memorial day because they are used almost all Summer long, especially during the fourth of July. So, let me show you how to make these fun patriotic windsocks by recycling those tube containers for Pringles or bread crumbs.
Since I didn't want to deal with paint, I used Duck tape, the best decision ever!  :D

This can be a kid's project if you keep the designs simple.

The materials you'll need:

• Tube containers
• Duck tape -red, white, and blue-
• Scissors
• Ribbons or paper streamers
• Hot glue gun
• X-acto knife 
• Ruler

Instructions

Well, the main job is to cover the tubes with the Duck tape, using scissors to cut across the tape.

However, if you want to jazz them up with intricate details, you're going to need an X-acto knife, ruler, and a surface where to cut those designs.

I decided to test my patience, creating a Union Jack, boy, lots more cutting and even measuring.



The stars were traced and then cut out with the X-acto knife.

Once the tape designs are done, add the ribbon where to hang them from.

They looked super cute at this point!

But, the final detail was too hot glued pieces of ribbon or streamers from the low, inside part of the tubes.

I didn't have little stars in my stash, I tried making them from Duck tape, but nope. too much work. I think these little circles represent them fairly well.

 And ... the Union Jack! 💓
As soon as my kids saw it. They asked me if I'd made it because of the Royal wedding.
Well, maybe or maybe not. :D
