We had a gorgeous weekend, Saturday was a bit cold, but yesterday the temps went a bit higher and it was a delight to work on some projects in the backyard.
I got into lots of little projects for the final phase of my patio makeover. If you're new here, let me tell you, this year I'm participating in the Home Depot's Patio Style Challenge which is going strong! You can check all the wonderful makeovers already on their site right HERE, a really good way to gather ideas and inspiration for your own home. My patio makeover will be there soon. ;)
One of those little projects was to inject new life into a pair of stump tables I've had for years.
We were visiting my sister-in-law's vacation home in New Hampshire when a crew arrived to their property to cut some trees. Well, we came back home with a pair of logs that I immediately converted into tables.
At the time I was into strong colors, black, red, and lots of contrast. I gave the logs a really dark stained treatment as you can see in the above picture. Ha, I now wish I'v done nothing to them!
Pretty soon I got tired of the dark stain and took the logs to the garage, there they stay for a couple of years. Last June when in need of a little table, I brought one of them and wrapped it in a rug, ahhh so much better! You can see that makeover right HERE.
Though, that makeover didn't last long. A month ago, I took the rug off and converted it into pillows. Yeah, my wacky ways of repurposing stuff. :D
So, both logs went back to the old dark stain treatment.
But, while looking for side tables for the patio, the logs looked like the perfect thing.
Two coats of outdoor gray paint followed by a block of white and they look amazing!
As usual, the power of paint is incredible, they look fresh and so good.
I got this fuschia plant that I'm totally drooling all over it. Those flowers are SO pretty!
What a striking complement to my stump tables. ;)
I can't wait to share the whole patio makeover with you guys. Stay tuned!

ReplyDeleteI love what you did with the tree stumps. Either way you can't go wrong with any of those looks. I do like them in white and looks great on your porch.
