Hi friends,
The snow, early this week, has kept me away from working in the backyard. We only got about 5" of snow (I'm so glad it was that low), but I'm still waiting for it to melt so I can go back to pretty up the whole space.
In the meantime, this has been a good opportunity to come inside and finish the work in the living room, adding the final details to complete the room makeover.
Did I tell you next week is Spring Home Tour? Yep. One more reason to finish that room. ;)
Once again, our host Marty from A Stroll Thru Life has set up a fantastic week full of Spring inspiration.
I'll be opening the doors of my casa next Wednesday, March 22nd, and you're all invited!
One of the easy ways to freshen up a room is by changing the pillows. I try to change the pillowcases every new season, they give the rooms an entirely new feel.
It might get pricey if you follow the latest trends, but hey, there are always ways to keep costs down.
Those pillows in the above picture were made out of one standard pillow sham I found like three weeks ago at Pottery Barn. They were having a pillowcase sale, and they only have one with that pattern. Well, for only four bucks I bought it and turned it into two smaller ones.
Now, making pillows out of rugs is nothing new.
I found this rug a long time ago, and again, I liked the pattern.
And I even used this rug on another project last year. See it HERE.
But, now that I'm going for a white and blue color palette, the rug with those colors and all that texture was perfect for another set of pillowcases.
Easy envelope pillows that you can put together in one hour.
You can follow the tutorial right HERE.
Now the question is, which pillows should I use here? ;)
What other materials have you used to create pillow covers?

Love those pillows. Now, if only I liked to sew.:(
