Last week while working in the garage I noticed some canvases that had been in there for almost a year.
My daughter brought them home after saving them from the landfill when someone at school was getting rid of them.
She's learned a lesson or two. ;)
They weren't pretty, but nothing a few coats of white paint couldn't take care of. They were painted and they sat there, waiting for inspiration to strike.
Well, after a year, I finally came up with something, a Let's Give Thanks sign.
These are the materials you'll need to create it:
- 1 Canvas - The one I used is 16 x 20
- 1 Black Sharpie
- Carbon paper and pencil
- Download 16 x 20 Image HERE or 8 x 10 Image HERE
Optional:
6' Wood molding to frame it - ¾" square
Nailer or even Liquid Nails can hold the frame.
I still don't have a cutting machine to make this kind of signs, so I have go the old way...
Printing the image and carbon copying it onto the canvas.
Then, using the black Sharpie, it got filled in. EASY, right!
Well, I didn't like the staples showing on the sides. That's why I went ahead and framed it with spare pieces of wood from other projects.
Nothing fancy. Straight cuts, very rustic. ;)
And, one of my favorite tools, my Ryobi AirStrike Nailer, did the rest!
Here is a sneak peek... also a Thankful Tree that you can check

See you there!
