I'm so happy to kick off the Holiday decorating with this, the 12 Days of Christmas ornament event, 12 bloggers, 12 ornaments each day for 12 consecutive days for a grand total of 144 ornaments. Ha, lots of inspiration!
My project today: The cutest and easiest Dear Santa Letter Ornaments!

The materials you'll need:
- Wired burlap ribbon (3½" width) - For each envelope 7" were needed.
- 5" Yarn or ribbon
- 1 piece of fabric 1½" x 1" (I used drop cloth fabric)
- A letter stamp set and brown ink (optional)
- Brown sharp point Sharpie
- Scissors
- Ruler
- Hot glue gun
You can find most of the materials at Michael's
Directions:
Cut the 1½" x 1" of fabric for the address (I used a little cardboard template to speed up the process), and stamp Dear Santa on it. If you're using the envelopes to hold gift cards, you can simply stamp the recipient's name. You can skip the stamping and only use a marker to write the names.
Pull away some threads from each side of the fabric to give it a frayed edge.
Fold the burlap ribbon as indicated in the picture below, giving the middle section 2½".
Hot glue the address on that middle section.
Hot glue the triangular flap in place, I even run a line of glue on those folds to make them lay flat.
Apply two more lines of glue on each side of the envelope and don't forget to add the folded piece of yarn or ribbon.
As a final touch, using the ruler and the Sharpie, go around the piece of fabric giving it the look of running stitches.
You can also draw a little heart to serve as a letter stamp.
These little Santa letters are also a great alternative to decorating your Christmas tree...
You can also use them as stocking stuffers...
Or as gift card holders!

These are absolutely adorable! If I'm in charge of the Christmas craft at my son's school this year (ugh I hope not, but it will probably be the case) then I'm stealing this idea.
