Feather Carved Pumpkin

Rockwell tools - Sonicrafter for carving a pumpkin with a feather style

Halloween is just around the corner, time to carve some pumpkins to decorate the house for the trick-or-treaters!!

You can gather a few friends and set a pumpkin carving party if working around friends is more your cup of tea.

For me it was a one woman's task, there in my backyard enjoying the weather and having fun, letting  my Rockwell Tools Sonicrafter - an oscillating multitool do the hassle free job of carving pumpkins. ;)

Carving an impressive design on a big pumpkin only takes minutes when you use the power of an oscillating tool!

You can check the following video, or you can continue reading below to see how the feather design was achieved.
Big pumpkins, in my opinion, are the best for this kind of power. Using your Sonicrafter F30, cut a lid about 2" radius from the stem. Take off the lid and remove the filling from the pumpkin.

I created my own geometric feather design on a piece of paper. You can download the pattern right HERE. Using a marker, the design was traced all around the pumpkin.

Then, using the Sonicrafter F30 the design was carved out.
It took me about 30 min. to complete the whole design.

Once completed, the pumpkin was brought out to the front porch.
I love it! Though, all lit it looks the best at night. :)

Here are some of the features that make the Sonicrafter F30 a great addition to your tool box:
  • Hyperlock tool-free blade change system provides 1 ton of clamping force to prevent blade slippage
  • Universal Fit System accepts other brand accessories
  • Constant speed control for maintaining speed-of-cut under load
  • Vibrafree counterweight offsets vibration for smooth cutting
  • Variable speed dial for precision control
