Don't you all love free stuff? I sure do! I love to scan Craiglist for free stuff around my area, I don't like to go too far away from where I live unless is something so great or something I need badly.
So, last week when I saw the ad for these free baskets my three main points were marked.
Something I like/need... Checked ✓
Close to where I live... Checked ✓
Works with my schedule... Checked ✓
The place to pick them up couldn't be any better, a couple of miles away from where I had to drop my kids to a game. ;)
The lady who gave them to me had received them as house warming gifts and she didn't want to throw them away.
At first I didn't really know how I was going to use them.
But, when I got home, the idea just came. The hutch was emptied up and the first items to go back in there were the baskets. :)
Though, I like the Lindt tags/logos, they were not going to go with the rustic set up I had in mind for the hutch, a chalkboard sticker was a better fit.
Pretty soon baskets and hutch were filled up.
White pears, pumpkins...
Pine cones, paper flowers, and even Summer stuff made it to the bottom of the baskets. ;)
One of my Falls signs ---> The Fresh Apples took big center stage. Click HERE for how to DIY this and more Fall signs.
White dishes, bowls and some of the first acorns of the season.
Owls that I think go so well during Fall and Winter.
And I couldn't leave Mr. Owl packed in a box in the basement, nope! Nowadays he looks like he's limping. I know, that's the age, he's been with me for many years. :)
And even the chicken my daughter found at the flea market made it to hutch!
That was her best part. She was super happy I finally included the chicken in one of my projects.
:)
And that makes me happy too.
:)
Thanks for stopping by!

It is an all day, and possibly two day, event!

Your hutch looks awesome Cristina and I love your free baskets in the fall mix. Speaking of fall, we may get a touch of snow here Tuesday....yikes I think the W word is on its way....
ReplyDeleteOh I am loving your hutch...and I am so glad you got those baskets for free! I have been on the hunt for some too but everytime I see the ones I like they are priced too high. But I'm not giving up yet!
ReplyDeleteLove the owls and your fall sign...those are wonderful!
The Fall touches are so lovely against the white backdrop. Gives an opportunity to ease into Fall without leaving the transitioning months behind altogether. I love the light touch you give everything. The ceramic pears are fabulous!
