Another project done for the guest room was the round mirror, it was very easy to put together and even though it's not perfect, its price was way better, like $160 less than the price of the mirror I had on my inspiration board.
$169.99 Source |
It came from from the table I bought at the thrift store for only $6.30
Remember I bought it because I needed some pretty legs for the daybed? You can check that project right HERE.
These are the materials you'll need for creating the mirror:
- 1 Round piece of wood (I used a tabletop)
- 1 round mirror
- 2 Small screws
- 1 Nail
- Strong double sided tape
- White paint (I used chalkpaint)
- Strong string
- Pencil
- Wood stain
- 2" Paint brush
- Small detail brush
- hammer
- Sander
Sand the wood, I got rid of the layer of polyurethane the tabletop had.
Find the center and drive a nail in it. Loosely, attach one end of a piece of string to the nail, at the other end attach a pencil. Draw two circles, shortening the string before drawing the second circle.
Paint the border and the centered circle with white paint.
Wait for the paint to dry.
In order to create depth, use a small brush to apply wood stain right along the white border .
Using double sided mounting tape attach the mirror to the center of the wooden surface. Attach screws and string on the back to hang it.
And up on the wall it went!
One more part of the old thrift store table was also used as a pc stand, as you can see in the picture below.
I guess it can also be used as a plant stand, probably by adding some wheels to it. For now its been one small table---> Three great projects. ;)
Hmmm and the apron is still laying around in the garage. :)
