When it was time to style my "new" potting bench, I went all around the house looking for flower pots and decorative items to fill it up, but oh, oh, I didn't have much! I got some pots in the garage and that was pretty much all I had! What abounds around these parts are small pieces of wood and that's exactly what got used. ;)
The small leftover pieces from the playset weren't the only ones, a wooden shelf made out of wood remnants and a cabinet base was also brought out as a decoration.
Still, something was missing, and that something was signs. Two old boards were used for these signs. I love their color and roughness.
The letters were printed and transferred to the boards using carbon paper.
For the "Garden" sign, I used the font --> ZnikomitNo24
For the "Flower Pots" sign, I used --> Bernard MT condensed
Regular acrylic white paint was used to trace the letters and arrow, and then they were lightly sanded (the letters only), and given a light coat of polyurethane to protect them.
Though I'll wait for mother nature to give them a better faded look. ☺
Remember my Dollar General decorated planters? They are doing great! They've been outdoors all the time and the liner is holding strong.
Not the same luck for the plants, one of them is already dead :( I'm telling you, I don't have a green thumb to say the least.
Anyhow I still have lots of planting to do. Wish me lots of luck!
Check the how the potting bench was built out of a playset right HERE.
:)Thanks!
