Last weekend, as I told you before, the weather was gorgeous. It was a bit cold early in the morning when we (the hubs and me), headed to our community flea market. We usually walk, but this time we drove to get there. It was the first one to be held this year, so I was pretty excited to walk around looking for those special finds!
There were not as many vendors as usual but nonetheless, we managed to come back home with some treasures.
My husband liked these binoculars, he was looking for vintage cameras, but there were none. I love the binoculars leather case and my kids thought they were very "cool". The price is $5.
I'm growing my stash of silver pieces, the one with the rounded shape and little feet is my favorite so far. Its price is $3.
A little research on the other one gave me an eBay copycat: "The White Horse Scotch Pewter Jug Liquor Pitcher" it sells there for $35, more than what we paid for all of our finds. My pitcher was only $2.
Two silver vases, not crazy about the color but they might come in handy for photo sessions! $2 each.
A set of picture frames that were not in great condition.
But I liked their summer feel, hmmm maybe because of the dolphin :) Well, for only a dollar for both of them, what's not to like!
The first find of the day was this basket/tray, I loved the chunky feel, and the materials, at first I didn't like the color.
But it worked perfectly during my new family room wall reveal. I might paint it though. The price is $2.
Last but not least a pair of router bits. The biggest expense is $10 for both! If I get them at the store the price will be way higher than that.
Something else that we came home with was this vibrant chair, it was picked from the curb! I need to check what kind of damage it has and if it's something worth fixing, just looking at it makes me smile.
Those were all our findings. We were thinking of spending only $20, but we ended up paying $28. The router bits were the ones who set us backward, but hey I know it's a good buy!
How about you?! Have you attended a flea market this year, are my prices comparable with the ones in your area? What's your greatest find so far?
I can't wait to attend next month's flea market!
Amazing finds, I know I am all about home decor but those binoculars and the leather case make me so jealous! I hit the flea markets earlier in March, but the offer was very skim and sad... perhaps I need to try again this weekend :)
ReplyDeleteGreat finds, Cristina! I love the chair and the router bits were a great find. :) I know you'll put those to great use.
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous Cristina! All your finds are truly great bargains and beautiful. I love the silver pieces as well. The only shopping I've been too lately was indoors, at JCP, will share it next week. ;-)

Great buys! Here in CT it's not consistently warm enough for tag sale season (except spontaneous It's Warm!! tag sales. We don't have flea markets in our area anymore :-(. We did see in a regional newspaper one is opening indoors near us. Can't wait!!

You got some great buys!! I can hardly wait to see what you create with your new router bits! My sister and I love garage sales.
ReplyDeleteOh, mercy, no! You definitely have the best prices where you are! Can I come visit?? LOL You found some fabulous things and the chair reminded me of a find of mine, years ago! Same thing. Found it on the curb for free! And it stayed in my back yard until it was time to say enough with all the damage it was getting from being outdoors. It did make such a charming area to gaze out from the kitchen window, though!
ReplyDeleteThose are some great finds Cristina, especially the router bits! The binoculars remind me of a set we used to have when I was a kid. I'm sure we'll be seeing some of those items again in new and fun ways.

ReplyDeleteI am loving the tarnished silver - always on my list. The chunky tray would look great in a distressed paint finish with some of the natural showing through. I love the chase for treasures!
