Making some music sheet ball ornaments it's been on my to do list forever and after unboxing Christmas stuff from previous years, I decided to give this craft a green light.
In case you also want to create some beautiful music sheet ball ornaments I'm sharing with you my process, what worked and what didn't.
I got some old ornaments and foam balls to cover. I first tried to cover the foam balls, using Mod Podge, but the paper didn't stick to the foam. (that's why they got crisscrossed on the picture)
The other plastic balls worked like a charm. I removed loose pieces of paint, the glossy red paint.
Applied Mod Podge, placed small pices of the music sheet and them applied more Mod Podge on top.
I even went to find some more ball ornaments to cover!
These ornaments are going to decorate our "musician's" room. She has always had a Christmas tree in her room, I also worked on giving her a brand new tree.
Some of the branches that were picked up from the street at the beginning of Spring time got covered all around with white yarn, then they were inserted onto floral foam that was placed inside the $1 pail from Target. More yarn on top and the "snow branch tree" was ready!
I found these ornaments at T.J Max, with pieces of music sheet inside, they look like an easy project too.
Little blue snowmen and ball ornaments were added, and...
Some yarn balls were also placed around to complete the snowy atmosphere.
Next it's reveal time. I'm FI-NA-LY DONE working in her room, and this little tree is going right in there!
P.S. To check the Room reveal with the tree in it, click HERE.
That is a beautiful tree. The colors are perfect and I love the sheet music you've incorporated as well. Megan
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness that little tree is so darn cute. Does it take a long time to wrap the yarn around the branches? I just assumed you had painted it. I'm sure it makes for a softer look. You never cease to amaze me Cristina! Can't wait for the reveal!

ReplyDeleteI love music so this is right up my alley! Thanks for showing.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone! Debbie, Wrapping the yarn around the branches was done while watching two shows my kids love, Minute to win it & The dog whisperer, two hours total. Good thing there was no need for glue, little knots at the beginning and end kept the yarn in place.
